Sengoku Jietai 1549 revolves a highly classified test involving an experiemental magnetic shield. When the second lieutenant in charge Rei Kanzaki (Suzuki Kyoka) accidentally causes a rift in the space time continuum, a group of SDF soldiers are thrown back in time to the year 1549! The government tries to cover up the accident, but years later, when an opportunity arises, a military unit codenamed "Romeo" is sent through the portal of time to bring back their missing comrades and save the world from total annihilation.
