Nowhere is their power more potent than Cape Town's Pollsmoor High Security Prison where gang members subject new arrivals to violent attacks & gang rapes as part of their brutal initiations. On leaving prison many gang members inhabit the desolate 'Cape Flats' region (or 'Cape of Fear' as it is
also known due to the reign of terror that the gang exercises over the local population).
Statistically it is the most dangerous place to live in South Africa. With alcoholism rampant in the area (possibly as a result of its proximity to the nearby wine growing region), the fierce-some Number gang is heavily involved in drug dealing, extortion & prostitution.
